Fences are simple yet integral structures for any zoo as they prevent animals from roaming freely around the park and causing harm to guests. There is a variety of fences to choose from in Prehistoric Kingdom, allowing the player to make an endless number of exhibits in any style or theme that they desire. In Challenge Mode, fences are researched not by theme, but by strength level, in a tab called "Security". Like paths, fences are constructed in straight lines or in spline-based curves. Each fence type carries the parameters of strength level, height, cost, visibility and power consumption (although at present no fence type consumes any power).

Description
Metal Fences
Designed to withstand the most powerful of creatures, the Modern Metal Fence is an instrumental part for containing large and dangerous Animals. The largest variant is taller (6m) and stronger (5 stars) than any other fence in the game, without sacrificing a lot of visibility. Basic Ironbar fencing offers an aesthetically pleasing and cheaper, but weaker, alternative.
Wooden Fences
Though not as sturdy as their metal counterparts, wooden fences are an essential part of the early game aesthetic. Coming in 1, 2.5 and 4 meters tall variants, these fences are suitable for weaker or less demanding animals.
Glass Fences
Fencing that functions as a window to the prehistoric world. Perfect visibility, but weak.
Stone Fences
Hard concrete-, clay- or rock-based fencing that functions as a good hard material with which to surround an enclosure on the exterior. This group contains high-visibility, medium-security fences as well as high-security, low-to-no-visibility varieties.
Habitat Marker
Habitat markers are unlike any other type of fence. They are free to place, invisible when not editing and do not serve as a real barrier for guests or animals. Their function is to close fence loops and designate enclosures without having to use one of the real fences, so a custom barrier can be built. For example, habitat markers allow for the use of custom-built modular fences, rock walls or moats.
