Yi qi is a bizarre dragon-like little theropod that is confirmed to be coming to Prehistoric Kingdom as a Mini-Exhibit animal.

In-Game[]

Description[]

Yi in-game is a tiny draconic-looking birdlike theropod bearing unusual membranous wings adorned with a complex mottled pattern. A small rounded tuft of feathering adorns the head of this dinosaur, and strange ribbon-like feathers adorn its stubby tail. The ribbon feathers are larger and more brightly colored in male individuals than in females, with males also possessing brighter reddish wing membranes than females. The body feathering of the little wyverns is largely a creamy brown, with the feathers approaching the animal's head becoming a lighter beige save for the distinct eye-stripes.

Management[]

Yi is planned to be a Mini-Exhibit animal and will behave like typical animals in-game but with a more limited set of behaviors without hunting and ontogeny.

Trivia[]

  • Yi was the third arboreal Mini-Exhibit animal confirmed to be coming to the game, joining Microraptor and Archaeopteryx.
  • Yi qi possesses the shortest scientific name possible of any dinosaur, and perhaps any animal, as names with only one character are prohibited by the ICZN.
  • Its concept art was first showcased alongside Tiktaalik and the first showcase of the reworked Terrarium System.
  • It was the first animal in Prehistoric Kingdom to possess membranous wings, being added before any bats or pterosaurs.
